Adahlia's nursery & Bekah's baby's shower! (pictures)

So tonight mom and I worked on the nursery for Adahlia again. =)
We've finished painting the walls (minus a few minor touch ups) and hot glued the ribbon "chair rail" to seperate the pink from the brown.

It doesn't look like much to everyone else, but to see the way it started to now is a big transformation.
The room used to belong to a young boy - the walls were tan, the cabinets were navy blue, the wall to the left of the door was completely covered by cabinets and an 8' desk that were bright yellow and red (and upon trying to remove them, found they were original to the house.. so we had to have an entire day of demolition and partial removal of the floor!!).
The wires hanging out of the wall were attached to fluorescent lights that hung from the bottom of the cabinets as lighting for the monstrous desk that once existed, and we will soon connect them to sconces beside the canopy of the crib.
Most of tonight was spent hanging the doors of the cabinet-wall you can only partially see, because of course we had to take out all twelve drawers and take down all 4 doors to paint them from their hideous navy blue/red to Souuullll Chocolate. lol.
I'll take better pictures with a better camera the next time we decide to work on her room - these pictures really don't do the beautiful colors justice.

It's been a really long and tiring experience, but we finally got it down to where it's bare, and we can make it all beautiful-like for the baaabyyy! =)

Pictures? They're pretty blurry because they were taken with my pathetic 1.3 megapixel-havin' camera of my sk, and you can't really see the ribbon very well, but it's brown with pink polka dots.

Now, the only parts left of her nursery are:
- put a fresh coat of bright white paint on her baby bed
- put up brand new crown molding and baseboards
-spray paint the handles of the doors on the cabinets silver
-hang her canopy above her bed (the outside of it will be brown and pink& the inside of the canopy is pink/brown toile)
- finish sewing her bumper pads, which are also pink/brown toile on the outside and pink with brown polka dots on the inside
-hang the white lettering on the wall that will spell her name
-hang the roman shades over the windows
- install the sconces that will go on either side of her canopy
- move the rest of her furniture/toys/etc. into the room!

It's been a couple of weeks since I have even logged into good ol' LJ.

I haven't updated in so long, mostly because of the fact that my paid account has expired and it almost makes me feel unworthy of posting anymore.

BUT.. I have news.

I found out June 1, 2007 that I am with child.
Yes, Alex and I conceived what will be a baby.
Yes, this means we were right.. there is no God.

That, or baby Adahlia/Silas is the Anti-Christ.

and also Yes, I am serious about the names. If it is a girl, her name will be Adahlia. If it is a boy, his name will be Silas.

On top of that, Alex has already informed his mother of the news, and she has agreed to sign for him to marry me.
Yes, marriage. Soon.

Before it was a "Oh yeah, Alex and I are gonna get married." as in a future-type plan.
Now its damn near set in stone that at a date within the next 9 months, I will have the name 'Wyatt' attached onto my own, and I will be checking "Mrs." on legal papers.
Scary shit.
